The story behind the print

This unframed paper print features a solid black horse head silhouette, shaped like a chess knight, set against a pale cream circle. The background is a deep blue field with a fine, woven texture that gives the image a tactile, print-like quality. The horse faces left, with a pointed ear and a smooth, curved neck.

The composition is centred and portrait-oriented, with the cream circle acting as a halo behind the dark horse head. The palette is limited to black, cream, and blue, creating strong contrast. The silhouette style is graphic and illustrative, with no interior detail inside the horse shape. The textured blue background adds visual depth without distracting from the main subject.

Supplied unframed, this print is produced to order in the UK on 270 gsm premium satin paper using a 12-colour Mimaki UCJV300-160 printer with authentic Mimaki OEM inks. It is rolled and packaged by hand and available in multiple sizes. The horse head silhouette remains the central feature of the design.
