The story behind the print
This blue cat and red mushroom poster centres on a blue tabby with black stripes and wide eyes, sitting among green stems. Three small red mushrooms balance on its head, while one paw rests on a large red toadstool with a brown stalk. A red seal and black calligraphy appear in the upper and lower corners.
The illustration uses a Japanese woodblock style with flat colour and visible brush marks. The palette combines blue, red, green, and white, with the cat's striped tail curling to the left. The composition is portrait-oriented and centred, with the cat and large mushroom as the main focus against a plain background.
