The story behind the print
This unframed paper poster shows two blue horses standing upright and embracing, with the hand-drawn text "Hold Yer Horses" above them and the word "HORSES" below. The composition is centred, with the animals facing outward and their forelegs wrapped around each other in a simple, affectionate pose. The background is a flat pale yellow, and the entire design is rendered in a single shade of blue.
The artwork uses a loose, illustrative style with visible brush-like outlines and uneven edges that give it a hand-drawn or relief-print character. The horses have minimal facial features, short manes, and blocky legs, while the lettering is bold and slightly irregular. The limited blue and yellow palette keeps the image graphic and readable, and the typography sits as a headline above and below the central figures.
