The story behind the print

This botanical paper print depicts tall blue poppies with golden buds and sweeping green stems. Loose ink outlines and soft watercolour washes give the flowers a light, gestural quality across a cream background. The vertical composition places open blooms and closed seed pods at different heights, creating an airy meadow-like arrangement.

The palette combines muted blue petals, pale yellow accents and olive-green foliage. Thin black linework defines each petal and stem, while translucent colour fills sit slightly off-register for an illustrative, hand-painted feel. The unframed format keeps the focus on the drawing, making it easy to pair with a frame of your choice.

Printed to order in the UK on 270 gsm premium satin paper, this unframed poster is produced with a 12-colour Mimaki UCJV300-160 printer and authentic Mimaki OEM inks.
