The story behind the print
This blue sky poster centres on a glowing yellow lantern suspended from a black spiral wall bracket. The lantern's faceted glass panels and curved metal details stand out against a flat blue background, while two birds fly in the open space to the right. A silhouetted roofline with chimney pots and thin television aerials runs along the bottom edge, and the left side shows a textured wall with yellow and black patches.
The composition is portrait-oriented and graphic, using solid blocks of blue, yellow, and black rather than shading or texture. The lantern acts as the focal point, with the spiral bracket and hanging chain adding decorative detail. The rooftop silhouette and birds create a sense of scale and distance, while the flat blue sky keeps the image clean and readable. This illustrative style suits urban and architectural subjects.
