The story behind the print
This cat poster depicts two white cats wearing black sunglasses and draped in green and mustard robes, seated at a pink table with a backgammon board between them. A green bottle, two glasses of wine, a plate of sliced figs and a bowl of red cherries sit on the table, while a potted plant and a simple window outline appear in the background.
The illustration uses bold, painterly brushstrokes and a palette of pink, green, mustard and white. The cats' whiskers, pink noses and dark sunglasses are clearly defined, and the backgammon board adds a geometric counterpoint to the loose, expressive style. The composition is centred and portrait-oriented, with the two figures facing each other across the table.
