The story behind the print
This chess piece wall art print presents a full set of black and white chess silhouettes arranged in a patchwork grid of green, orange, purple, blue and neutral squares. The king, queen, knight, bishop, rook and pawn appear in alternating light and dark forms, creating a graphic board game composition that reads clearly from a distance.
The design uses a flat, illustrative style with strong contrast between the black and white pieces and the muted colour blocks behind them. Each chess piece sits centred in its own square, producing a repeating vertical rhythm across the print. The palette combines deep black, soft white, sage green, burnt orange, dusty purple and pale blue for a modern, slightly retro feel.
Supplied unframed, this chess print is produced to order in the UK on 270 gsm premium satin paper using a 12-colour Mimaki UCJV300-160 printer with authentic Mimaki OEM inks. It is rolled and packaged by hand and available in the configured sizes shown in the Size selector.
