The story behind the print
This chess queen wall art print features a dark navy blue queen piece centred within a decorative rectangular border. The queen has a rounded crown, a tiered collar, and a tapered base, with orange accents marking its edges. Above the piece sits a small crown motif, while the word QUEEN appears in orange serif capitals at the bottom. The background is a warm cream tone, giving the design a clean, graphic contrast.
The composition is portrait-oriented and symmetrical, with the queen silhouette occupying the central panel. The border is filled with small orange chess piece motifs on a navy ground, framed by thin orange lines. This illustrative, typography-led design uses a limited navy, orange, and cream palette, making it a strong fit for modern, minimalist, or retro-inspired interiors.
This chess queen print is supplied unframed, so the frame is not included. It is printed to order in the UK on 270 gsm premium satin paper using a 12-colour Mimaki UCJV300-160 printer and authentic Mimaki OEM inks.
