The story behind the print
This chess rook poster presents a high-contrast silhouette of a rook piece set against a burnt orange background. A small castle icon sits above the main figure, while the words THE ROOK are printed in a serif typeface at the bottom. The composition is portrait-oriented and centred, giving the piece a graphic, modern feel.
The artwork uses a limited palette of black, burnt orange, and a muted brown border. The rook is rendered as a solid black shape with subtle lighter highlights that suggest volume and form. This illustrative, minimalist approach keeps the focus on the chess piece and its typography, making it a strong choice for game rooms, studies, or living areas.
