The story behind the print
This unframed paper print features an orange tabby cat with closed eyes resting on a windowsill, positioned beside a tall blue teapot decorated with white stripes. In the foreground, a peach sits on a blue and white striped cloth, while a small sailboat floats on a deep blue sea beneath a coral pink sky, all framed by dark window mullions.
The artwork uses a flat, illustrative style with bold outlines and a limited palette of blue, orange, coral and olive green. The composition is portrait-oriented, with the window frame creating a strong vertical structure that draws the eye from the cat to the sailboat and down to the teapot and fruit. The striped cloth adds a graphic pattern that contrasts with the solid areas of colour.
