The story behind the print

This Japanese firefly night poster shows two black insects hovering against a peach and orange sky, each surrounded by a soft yellow glow. Tall green grass blades rise from the bottom, and a green panel at the top right holds bold black calligraphy. The composition is vertical and graphic, with a warm, limited palette of peach, green, yellow and black.

The artwork uses flat, illustration-style shapes rather than realistic detail. The fireflies are solid black silhouettes, while the glowing halos are soft yellow circles that stand out against the sky. The green grass blades are long and pointed, creating a simple layered foreground. The calligraphy panel adds a typographic element to the nature scene.
