The story behind the print
This goldfish poster presents thirteen fish arranged across a pale green ground, each rendered in a Japanese woodblock manner. The fish appear in purple, red, black and white, with flowing fins and varied body shapes that create a lively all-over pattern. Two black kanji characters and a red seal sit at the right side of the composition.
The print uses a muted sage background to offset the brighter fish, and the stylised linework and flat colour areas recall traditional Japanese fish prints. Each goldfish is shown from a different angle, with some facing left, some right, and others angled downwards, which keeps the eye moving across the sheet. The unframed paper print is suited to a living room, study or hallway.
This print is supplied unframed, so the frame is not included. It is printed to order in the UK on 270 gsm premium satin paper using a 12-colour Mimaki UCJV300-160 printer with authentic Mimaki OEM inks. Each print is rolled and packaged by hand and is available in the configured sizes shown in the Size selector.
