The story behind the print

This unframed paper print depicts a speckled orange hen standing among four small chicks, surrounded by white daisies and tall green foliage. The hen faces left with a red comb and wattle, while the chicks gather below on slender orange legs. The composition fills the vertical frame with layered botanical detail.

The artwork uses a warm palette of orange, cream, and deep green, with painterly brush marks that give the feathers and leaves a textured, illustrative feel. Daisies appear at the lower left and right, balancing the hen's upright posture. The style is decorative and naturalistic rather than photographic, with no text or typography.

Supplied unframed, this hen and chicks poster is printed to order in the UK on 270 gsm premium satin paper using a 12-colour Mimaki UCJV300-160 printer and authentic Mimaki OEM inks. Each print is rolled and packaged by hand and is available in multiple sizes from the Size selector.
