The story behind the print
This Japanese cat ramen poster centres on a black and white cat eating noodles with chopsticks. The cat's eyes are half-closed, and long strands of ramen stretch from the bowl to its mouth. A red-rimmed bowl holds noodles and a sliced egg, while swirling steam rises on the left. Japanese text appears in a red banner at the top and a black-bordered box on the left, giving the design a retro Japanese noodle-shop feel.
The illustration uses a mustard-yellow background, a teal table surface, and bold black outlines. The cat's white chest and paws contrast with its black fur, and the red banner and bowl rim add warm accents. The composition is portrait-oriented, with the cat and bowl filling the centre and the typography balancing the upper corners. The style is illustrative and vintage, with a flat colour palette and visible linework that recalls mid-century Japanese poster art.
This Japanese cat ramen poster is supplied unframed and the frame is not included. It is printed to order in the UK on 270 gsm premium satin paper using a 12-colour Mimaki UCJV300-160 printer and authentic Mimaki OEM inks. Each print is rolled and packaged by hand and is available in multiple sizes through the Size selector.
