The story behind the print
This Japanese crane and black cat poster depicts a tall red-crowned crane facing a seated black cat on a muted green background. The crane has a white body, dark tail feathers and long pale legs, while the cat sits in profile with a glossy dark coat and a curled tail. A small red seal and a vertical text box appear in the upper corners.
The composition is vertical and balanced, placing the crane on the right and the cat on the left across a flat green field. The illustration style uses fine linework and soft shading, with a restrained palette of green, white, black and red. The artwork is an unframed paper print, suited to a calm interior or a gallery wall.
