The story behind the print

This Japanese crane wall art shows a red-crowned crane in flight, wings raised and neck extended, against a pale beige sky. Below and to the right, dense green foliage is drawn with tight swirling lines, while dark navy-green clusters mark the tree edges. The bird's white body, black wing feathers, and red crown create a clear focal point in the upper left of the vertical composition.

The illustration style uses flat colour and repeating spiral brushwork for the foliage, giving the scene a decorative, graphic quality. The palette is limited to green, beige, white, black, and red, which keeps the image calm and easy to place in a room. The crane's outstretched wings and the dense, patterned greenery create a balanced contrast between movement and stillness.

This crane print is supplied unframed, so the frame is not included. It is printed to order in the UK on 270 gsm premium satin paper using a 12-colour Mimaki UCJV300-160 printer and authentic Mimaki OEM inks. Each print is rolled and packaged by hand and is available in multiple sizes, which are listed in the Size selector.
