The story behind the print

This Japanese koi fish poster displays a collection of goldfish and carp in a traditional Ukiyo-e inspired illustration. The artwork features varied fish with detailed scales, flowing fins, and distinct markings in dark green, white, and orange against a pale teal background. Each fish is shown in a different pose, creating a lively composition across the vertical format.

The illustration uses a muted palette of deep green, cream, and soft orange, with a subtle textured background that resembles vintage paper. The fish are arranged in a loose, natural pattern, with some swimming upwards and others angled downwards. This Japanese fish wall art is suited to rooms where a calm, nature-led theme is desired, such as a living room, bedroom, or hallway.
