The story behind the print
This Japanese koi fish poster centres on a single dark green fish with pale pink fins and a small white speckled detail along its back. The koi sits diagonally across a stylised background of wavy green and cream lines that suggest moving water or ripples. The composition is calm and graphic, with the fish acting as the clear focal point against the repeating pattern.
The artwork uses a limited palette of olive green, cream, and soft pink, giving it a muted, natural feel. The background lines are hand-drawn in appearance, varying in thickness and direction to create a gentle sense of current. This illustrative style combines animal subject matter with a Japanese-inspired water motif, making it suitable for rooms where a quiet, nature-led atmosphere is wanted.
This koi fish poster is supplied unframed, so the frame is not included. It is printed to order in the UK on 270 gsm premium satin paper using a 12-colour Mimaki UCJV300-160 printer and authentic Mimaki OEM inks. Each print is rolled and packaged by hand and is available in multiple sizes through the Size selector.
