The story behind the print
This Japanese pine forest poster depicts a line of tall, dark pine trees framing a pale sky and a red sun. A still lake below mirrors the trunks and the sun, while mist softens the distant trees and low banks. The composition is vertical and symmetrical, with the sun placed slightly left of centre between the two main groups of pines.
The palette combines muted green, beige, grey, and a single red accent. The flat, illustrative style and hazy background give the scene a quiet, atmospheric quality. The reflection in the water repeats the vertical rhythm of the trees, and the foreground includes sparse grass and a few bare branches at the water's edge.
This frame is not included, and the print is supplied unframed.
