The story behind the print

This koi fish poster captures a single fish in a vertical composition, painted with bold black, green, and orange brushstrokes against a warm beige background. The koi is shown in profile with a dark head, sweeping fins, and a curved body that suggests gentle movement through water.

The artwork uses a restrained palette of black, forest green, and burnt orange, applied in flat, painterly shapes. The fish's fins are rendered as thin, rhythmic lines, while the body is built from solid blocks of colour. This illustrative style gives the Japanese art print a modern, graphic quality that suits contemporary interiors.

This koi fish poster is supplied unframed, so the frame is not included. It is printed to order in the UK on 270 gsm premium satin paper using a 12-colour Mimaki UCJV300-160 printer and authentic Mimaki OEM inks. Each print is rolled and packaged by hand and is available in multiple sizes.
