The story behind the print
This koi fish poster depicts four carp in red, black, and white, their bodies angled across a cream background. Grey brushstrokes suggest water currents, while the fish show varied patterns and flowing fins. The composition uses a diagonal arrangement that draws the eye from the upper left to the lower right.
The Japanese art print employs an ink-wash illustration style, with soft edges and visible brush textures. The palette combines coral red, charcoal black, and white against a warm neutral ground. Each fish is distinct in marking, and the overall effect is calm and rhythmic, suited to a living room, hallway, or gallery wall.
