The story behind the print
This koi fish poster features a single carp curving upward against a cream background, its body outlined in dark blue with red-orange markings and scales. The fish is framed by vertical teal and red stripes on both sides, giving the composition a structured, decorative border. The artwork uses a limited palette of cream, teal, red, and dark blue, with a textured, print-like finish.
The koi is shown in profile with its mouth open and fins extended, creating a sense of movement. The striped background adds a graphic, almost textile-like quality to the Japanese-inspired design. The illustration style is simple and bold, with visible linework and flat colour areas that suit both modern and traditional interiors.
