The story behind the print
This koi fish poster depicts three orange carp swimming through stylised blue waves, surrounded by dark fan motifs and green reeds. The cream background and repeating wave pattern give the unframed paper print a calm, rhythmic quality, with the fish positioned diagonally across the composition.
The illustration uses a limited palette of cream, orange, navy and muted blue, with the koi rendered in textured scales and flowing tails. Fan shapes and reed clusters frame the fish, creating a balanced, decorative layout that draws the eye across the print. The style is illustrative and Japanese-inspired, with a flat, graphic treatment of water and foliage.
Supplied unframed, this print is produced to order in the UK on 270 gsm premium satin paper using a 12-colour Mimaki UCJV300-160 printer and authentic Mimaki OEM inks. It is rolled and packaged by hand and available in multiple sizes through the Size selector.
