The story behind the print

This koi fish wall art print shows three carp circling a pale blue water vortex on a warm beige background. A black and white koi curves across the top, while two red and white koi swim below, their fins and tails sweeping through concentric ripples. The composition uses a vertical portrait format with the fish arranged in a loose circular motion.

The artwork uses a limited palette of red, black, white, and pale blue, with visible brushstroke texture that suggests a Japanese ink painting style. The koi are shown from above, with subtle scale and fin detail, and the water is rendered as soft, overlapping rings rather than a flat background. This creates a sense of movement without relying on realistic shading.

This unframed print is produced to order in the UK on 270 gsm premium satin paper using a 12-colour Mimaki UCJV300-160 printer and authentic Mimaki OEM inks. It is rolled and packaged by hand and available in multiple sizes through the Size selector. The frame is not included.
