The story behind the print
This orange tabby cat poster shows a wide-eyed ginger cat reaching one paw toward a silver fish resting on a lilac plate with purple stripes. The cat's green eyes and whiskers are set against a cream upper background and a green lower section, while bold red and black Japanese calligraphy runs down the left side. The composition pairs the animal's alert pose with the fish and plate below.
The artwork uses a vintage Japanese woodblock style with visible brush textures and flat colour areas. The dominant orange fur contrasts with the green eyes, cream ground, and lilac plate, while the calligraphy adds a typographic element. The vertical layout places the cat above the fish, creating a simple narrative of feline curiosity.
