The story behind the print
This vertical poster shows a raccoon seated beneath a large orange umbrella, holding a red maple leaf in one paw. Dense grey rain lines fill the background, while the umbrella's black ribs and central finial create a strong graphic shape above the animal. The raccoon's striped tail and masked face are drawn in fine black linework against a cream ground.
The design uses a restrained palette of orange, grey, black and cream, with the maple leaf providing a small red accent. Its composition places the umbrella across the upper half and the raccoon low in the frame, giving the image a calm, storybook quality. The woodblock-style linework and flat colour areas suit a Japanese animal print or illustrative wall art theme.
