The story behind the print
This unframed paper print features a red bear walking through a dark green woodland while carrying a lit lantern. The bear is shown in profile with a cream-coloured muzzle, rounded ears, and a heavy, textured coat. The lantern hangs from its front paw and contains a single lit candle, casting a small pool of warm light against the deep green background.
The artwork uses a limited palette of rust red, cream, and dark green. The bear fills most of the frame, with loose grass marks at its feet and subtle speckling across the background that gives the image a screen-printed or vintage illustration feel. The composition is portrait-oriented and centres on the bear and lantern.
