The story behind the print
This retro sci-fi poster depicts three orange flying saucers hovering above a grand piano. Pale vertical beams of light stream from each craft onto the instrument's keys, while the piano itself is rendered in dark olive and orange against a deep blue background. The composition is centred and vertical, giving the scene a surreal, stage-like quality.
The artwork uses a limited palette of deep blue, orange, and olive, with a grainy, screen-printed texture that gives it a vintage, retrofuturist feel. The UFOs are simple, saucer-shaped forms with flat tops, and the light beams are drawn as dense vertical lines. The piano is shown in partial cutaway, with its lid open and keyboard visible. This illustrative style suits mid-century modern and sci-fi interiors.
This print is supplied unframed and is produced to order in the UK on 270 gsm premium satin paper, using a 12-colour Mimaki UCJV300-160 printer with authentic Mimaki OEM inks.
