The story behind the print

This surreal animal poster depicts an orange fish in profile with a large round eye and an open mouth holding a lit cigarette. A thin plume of smoke rises from the tip against a flat green background. The fish is rendered in a bold, graphic style with thick dark outlines and simplified scales.

The composition is tightly cropped, focusing on the fish's head and the cigarette, with no additional background detail. The limited palette of orange and green, combined with the high-contrast linework, gives the image a retro, illustrative feel. The fish's expression is deadpan, adding to the quirky character of the design.

This print is supplied unframed and is printed to order in the UK on 270 gsm premium satin paper using a 12-colour Mimaki UCJV300-160 printer with authentic Mimaki OEM inks. Each print is rolled and packaged by hand and is available in multiple sizes. The frame is not included.
