The story behind the print

This sugar skull wall art centres on a cream calavera decorated with teal leaf motifs, coral flowers, and a stitched mouth. The skull is set against a deep blue background filled with stylised orange and red blooms, green seed pods, and dark stems, creating a symmetrical and balanced composition.

The illustration uses a limited palette of cream, teal, coral, orange, and green, with visible brushstroke textures and a hand-painted feel. The floral calavera design is rendered in a folk-art style, with the skull's eye sockets and nasal cavity left as solid dark shapes that contrast with the decorative details.

This unframed paper print is produced to order in the UK on 270 gsm premium satin paper using a 12-colour Mimaki UCJV300-160 printer with authentic Mimaki OEM inks. Each print is rolled and packaged by hand and is available in the configured sizes shown in the Size selector.
