The story behind the print

This sunflower art print shows a large yellow bloom with a dark blue centre and a stag beetle climbing a green stem below. The beetle's curved mandibles and segmented legs are picked out in dark blue against a cream background, while broad green leaves frame the composition.

The design uses a linocut or relief-print look with flat, bold shapes and visible texture. Yellow petals radiate from the dark centre, and the beetle's yellow-striped wing cases echo the flower's palette. The vertical composition places the insect on the stem, linking the two main subjects.

This unframed paper poster is printed to order in the UK on 270 gsm premium satin paper using a 12-colour Mimaki UCJV300-160 printer and authentic Mimaki OEM inks. Each print is rolled and packaged by hand and is available in multiple sizes through the Size selector.
