The story behind the print
This vintage deer poster shows a spotted fawn standing beneath a dark green parasol and stylised pine branches. The animal is drawn in profile with a slender neck, small antlers and a warm tan coat marked by pale spots. Behind it, vertical brush-like strokes and muted grey-green shapes suggest a wooded setting, while the deep green canopy anchors the composition.
The Japanese woodblock animal print uses a restrained palette of tan, forest green, charcoal and cream. The fawn's dark legs and tail contrast with its lighter body, and the pine foliage is rendered in flat, graphic silhouettes. The portrait orientation and simple, centred layout give the design a calm, illustrative quality suited to nature-themed wall art.
