The story behind the print
This fish poster centres on a large river trout with a speckled body and pronounced dorsal fin, set against a background of stylised water ripples. Small orange minnows swim above and below the main fish, while dark green water weeds frame the lower edge. The composition is enclosed by a decorative border in orange and dark green, giving the design a vintage natural-history feel.
The artwork uses a limited palette of dark green, orange, and cream, with the trout rendered in black linework and stippled texture. The fish is shown in profile, facing left, with clear details of its eye, gills, and fins. The smaller fish repeat the orange tone, creating a balanced vertical arrangement that draws the eye across the full print.
