The story behind the print
This quirky animal poster features a white duck with a bright orange beak, standing upright and wearing a long red knitted scarf that trails down to the floor. Above the duck, a row of triangular bunting flags in black, orange, white, red, blue and yellow crosses a textured blue background. The duck's rounded white body and orange webbed feet are set against a warm ochre ground, giving the scene a cheerful, storybook feel.
The artwork uses a naive folk art style with visible brushstrokes and a textured finish. The dominant palette of bright blue, white, red and yellow creates a bold contrast, while the simple composition keeps the duck centred and uncluttered. The scarf wraps thickly around the neck and extends along the ground, adding a playful sense of movement to the otherwise still figure.
